THE Best Christmas Gift This Adoptee Could EVER Get!

Yes - I've been a little quiet. (sorry)
Life has been busy - and I've had much too much to think about of late.
BUT - I just had to let you all know.
Just two days before Christmas - I received the best present I could ever wish for.
A photo of my bio Mum and Dad.
(Shot 8 years ago - taken out of a frame - scanned & emailed to me by my father - without my mother knowing!! Yes - I think he's pretty neat!)
Below it - a photo of my bio sister J and I - taken in 2006 when we found each other - we were both adopted at birth - same mother - different father.
Finally - I see where I came from.

Did you look at the picture over and over again looking for similarities? I did that with my dad's pic.

So glad you got that! Have you sent him pics too? If you do, make sure to send some of you as a little girl. Tug at his heart strings some more.

Wow, for someone that knows that your Mother is very aware of her privacy, I can see that you have been careful and honoured her wishes NOT!

You have plastered her photo on the net! It is polite if you are going to put up info and data about someone living to get their consent!

If I was your Mother and you did this to me, it would drive me further away and reinforce my decision in the first place, to not have anything to do with you.

You need to start afresh and think clever, if you ever want to know your Mother.

As for your father words fail me.
He should be encouraging your Mother at every opportunity, not going behind her back. He is sneeky! I wouldn't trust him in a fit.

Another Mother

Well I have to agree with "Another Mother" I came in here yesterday and was just flabbergasted to see a photo of your mother on the web. For so long you have critized her for not having contact with you and now you have the hide to publish her photo for all to see.

So much for confordentuality and respect for a person's privacy.

You have invaded her privacy and even gone as far as showing the photos of the two daughters she lost to adoption.

Why don't you just go to the Daily Telegraph and put on the front page. That will certainly make your mother come rushing into your arms. You are alienating her and her husband is adding and abetting you.

Disgusted.

So Anonymous 1 and 2, does Poss then not have any rights? If you had read this blog even a tiny bit, you would realise that Poss has tiptoed around everybody else's feelings, treaded gently and carefully around how others might react, given loads of opportunity for contact.

I'm surprised that you didn't use the word grateful, after all isn't that what you mean? Take what you're given, little adoptee Poss and be happy with it. Your feelings, thoughts, emotions don't matter and they never will. Just don't upset anyone else.

Most readers of this blog will have had this sh*t fed to us our whole lives. We are sick of it.

You go, Poss. Do what you have to do to feel, to revel in your life, to make the most of what you have been given.

Angie

Oh, Poss, those anonymous APs. They never want to let go of their control over "children", do they?

I think your dad's actions show what a father's love really is. Your mother was an adult at the time who made a devestating decision that YOU have had to live with your entire life. Good on your dad, to step up and put your needs first finally.
